What happens when my LoveGuard™ plan runs out of data?

On 1 GB plans data stops. On 5 GB and larger it slows. Talk and text keep working either way.

Written by Love

It depends on which plan you are on, and the difference matters.

On 1 GB plans

Data stops when you reach 1 GB. It does not slow down, it stops until your plan renews.

Talk and text keep working the whole time. So does WiFi. A child on a 1 GB plan who runs out can still call you, text you, and use the internet on any WiFi network.

On 5 GB and larger plans

Data slows to a reduced speed after you reach your amount. It does not stop. Messaging and maps still work. Video and large downloads will be slow.

Why 1 GB works differently

The 1 GB plan is built as a hard stop, which is what makes it predictable. You know exactly what you are paying and there are no surprises.

Does filtering still work if data stops or slows?

Yes. LoveGuard filtering is not affected by running out of data. Whatever browsing still happens on our network is still filtered.

Running out every month?

Move up a tier. See Which LoveGuard plan should I choose? Plan changes take effect at your next billing cycle, so you are never charged twice in one month.

Plans renew monthly

Your data resets when your plan renews. All LoveGuard plans are auto-renewing and prepaid, with no contract.
