Short version: LoveGuard filters web browsing that runs on your Love Mobile data. It does not filter WiFi you connect to, and it does not filter inside apps.
What LoveGuard does cover
Web browsing on cellular data, on the phone itself
Web browsing on any device connected to that phone's mobile hotspot, including a laptop or tablet
That second one surprises people. Because the filter lives on the network rather than the phone, tethering a device does not get around it. Everything riding on that plan's data is filtered the same way.
What LoveGuard does not cover
Outside WiFi. When the phone joins your home WiFi, school WiFi, or a coffee shop network, that traffic never touches our network. LoveGuard cannot see it, so it cannot filter it. Your router settings and the phone's own controls apply instead.
Content inside apps. LoveGuard filters websites. If an app is already installed, LoveGuard does not filter what happens inside it.
Why LoveGuard is still worth having
Most families already have some kind of filter on the home WiFi. Here is the problem with stopping there. A kid who wants around it just turns WiFi off. The home filter is gone and the phone browses freely on cellular.
That is the gap LoveGuard closes, and no router can close it. Turning WiFi off does not turn LoveGuard off.
How to cover the rest
Use both layers together:
LoveGuard covers browsing on cellular and hotspot
Screen Time or Family Link covers apps, screen time, and downloads
Your router covers browsing at home
See Using LoveGuard with Screen Time and Family Link for setup.
